Mama’s Black Sheep is the musical collaboration of singer-songwriters Ashland Miller (guitar/vocals) and Laura Cerulli (drums/vocals). Touring together since 2008 and both veterans of the singer-songwriter circuit, Miller & Cerulli will make you feel like you’ve been listening to their music for years. Driven by Miller’s versatile guitar grooves, Cerulli’s innovative percussion, and two voices that blend like honey and whiskey, Mama’s Black Sheep create acoustic rock & blues with a style that is distinctly their own.

Escafe has been a part of downtown Charlottesville for nearly 20 years. Our murals reflect the eclectic and rich social fabric that Charlottesville enjoys and embodies. Our menus reflect seasonal changes and locally –sourced fare when possible and retain many of the standard features that our regulars have come to expect and enjoy as part of their routine.
In addition to our widely-accessible menu, live music is now part of what we offer to our diners during the dinner hour many nights a week. We feel strongly that supporting local musicians is part of supporting our culture and downtown Charlottesville’s lively atmosphere.
We hope we can enjoy your company and patronage soon.
Open six evenings a week for dinner and late night entertainment, Escafe is certainly a venue where dropping in with a date or a small group is convenient. With two kitchens and ample seating both inside and out, we also have space and the facility to serve larger parties. We continue to host large groups for cocktail receptions, wedding luncheons and dinners, and a myriad of other private events. Appetizers are always included for these events in some form so as to accommodate early guests and we can cater to just about any budget and diet restriction.
We would enjoy hosting your group in the semi-private area inside (The Terrace) that can accommodate up to 40 guests or the entire space for up to 200 guests standing and seated. Our shaded patio is spacious enough for larger groups as well seating up to 60 guests. If you would like to host a large group for brunch, lunch, dinner or a special event, please call or send us an email.
